Tokyo Art Book Fair Vol 6, took place these past days and it was worth visiting it. Local and international publishers come together with galleries and independent artists and hold the biggest book fair in Asia (Cover photo “Dog Food” by Kara Patrick)
During three days, you can enjoy exhibitions, talks and an amazing selection of contemporary art publications, collectible zines, posters and limited edition artworks.
Here’s a selection of my favourite works. Lori, my friend and fellow artist showed her Estello Zines and a lovely collection of postcards, posters and hand-made folding books. You can see more of little Estello HERE and check out her blog HERE. Lori is part of an art group known as “Tokyo Art Byte” .
Deanna, one of the artists of Tokyo Art Byte, also took part of this fair and presented her embroidered “Travel Journals”. You can see her works HERE
Korean sisters, Choo Jiyoung and Choo Jiwon from 0.1, amazing retro style silkscreen posters and eco-bags inspired on themselves and their twin brothers. So cool! Follow their work HERE
Japanese artist Hiroyuki Masuda’s work “HELLO NEW DAY”. So simple yet such a great concept! Follow his works HERE
Wonderful illustrations by Kara Patrick. The artist told me she loves food and dogs so she used both concepts as an inspiration for her work. Her books are so lovely. You can check her works HERE
British illustrator Andrew Joyce, a resident of Tokyo, uses his daily life in the city to create visual diaries. You can see more of his works HERE
Toru Takizawa is the creative mind behind Sander Studio, another amazing artwork that caught my attention. The artist uses simple lines to create a world full of wonderful characters. Check out his work HERE
There were so many things to check out! Definitely a fair to keep in mind for next year!
I’d like to thank all the artists who kindly let me shoot their beautiful works… ありがとうございます!!
