“Image Makers’, an amazing exhibition curated by Helene Kelmachter (Japan-France cultural exchange expert) is taking place at 21_21 Design Sight Museum in Nogizaka.
Image makers in Japan and abroad have come together to create a fantasy world. The galleries are the perfect playgrounds for these outstanding artists: Jean-Paul Goude, Jun Miyake, Robert Wilson, David Lynch, Noritaka Tatehana and Photographer Hal.
The beautiful shoes by Noritaka Tatehana. (There’s a pair of shoes you can try on later when you exit the exhibition!)
Sealed couples in a vacuum pack by Photographer Hal
Installations, photographs and illustrations by French artist Jean- Paul Goude. You can recognise actress/singer Grace Jones in many of his works. They worked closely for years, and he used to choreograph her performances, direct her music albums, and create her album covers.
Illustrations and Video Installation by David Lynch
Video Installation by American visual artist Robert Wilson
Through a perfect blend of fashion, performances, kinetic sculptures, design, cinema, photography and installations, these creators provide a one of a kind journey into an imaginary world. Not to be missed if you’re in town.
I’d like to thank 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT‘s staff who kindly let me shoot their beautiful museum, ありがとうございます!
