I’m spending a couple of weeks in Shimoda, in Izu Peninsula. I’ve been to Shimoda before, it’s the first time I’m a ‘local’ here.
I’m staying in a cozy Japanese house with tatami floors in the bedrooms, a great living room full of spaces to lay down and chill and probably my favourite: a wood deck facing the rice fields and a forest. I’m waking up to this beautiful view every morning!
I’ve been riding a bike during the mornings, just wondering around close to the house.
It’s Hydrangeas time in Japan so the narrow paths and roads are filled with big clusters of pink, blue and purple flowers. I love them so cut a few to have at home.
Beautiful flowers and fresh veggies everywhere!
It’s nice to take a break from my dear Tokyo and connect to nature again.
