Roppongi Art Night 2014 「六本木アートナイト2014」

Roppongi Art Night This past weekend, Roppongi Art Night, a one-night, all-night, festival of art staged throughout the streets of Roppongi in central Tokyo, took place.

Roppongi Art Night Art exhibitions, music, performances and installations were centered on Roppongi’s museums (Mori Art Museum, National Art Center Tokyo) and other spaces (Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Roppongi Crossing).

This year’s Artistic Director was Hibino Katsuhiko and the theme was “Move Your Body!” which focused on the “physical nature of art.”  Unfortunately, I was in Kyoto on Saturday but was able to check out some exhibitions and see a few events on Sunday afternoon.

I liked this cool trailer parked inside Roppongi Hills. This was Airbnb (エアービーアンドビー) a community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world. They were founded in 2008 in San Francisco, California and they are now in Tokyo.

Besides all the exhibitions and events happening in Tokyo that night, there was another can’t-miss show going on: the street style parade. Here are my favorite looks!
