The First Days of the Year of the Horse

Japanese New Year celebration is called “Shogatsu”.  To celebrate the beginning of the year, people enjoy mochi soft rice cakes, traditional pastimes as flying kites and spinning tops, the powerful Taiko drums, The Lion Dance and Koto music among other traditions.
