Summer Days in Tokyo

Boy it’s HOT in Tokyo and humid and hot and then it rains and then it’s hot again! But, at least there is a lot of fun stuff to do in town! You might want to check MIDTOWN ♥ SUMMER 2013 taking part in Tokyo Midtown.

On my way there, I bumped into this beautiful Japanese lady wearing her colorful “Yukata”.  A Yukata is like a casual kimono usually made of cotton that many people wear in summer days. The sash around her waist is an “obi” and her wooden clogs are “geta”

Doesn’t she look amazing?  Thanks for posing for my blog!  ありがとうございます!!

What’s in for the Kids? There are several workshops and indoors/outdoors activities like the “Peta Peta Point” a stamp rally around Tokyo Midtown.

And what about the grown-ups? Enjoy the “Bacardi Midpark Cafe”, an open-air cafe in the garden. They change their menu of “Special Mojito” every week.

End your visit cooling off in “Ashimizu”, a gentle stream flowing through Midtown Garden. Sit back and enjoy the cool evening air in the heart of Tokyo.

Lovely yukata! And these pictures of fuurin are sooo nice and refreshing! I will remember forever their tinkling …
So, summer in Japan is : yukata, fuurin, and matsuri? (=^.^=)
The Ashimizu is a nice idea too! What are these flower petals?
Thanks again Maria! Have a nice day!

    • Yes, Summer in Japan is all that + Hanabi (fireworks) and noisy Cicadas!!

Those little white things in the stream are white pebbles. Not sure what’s their purpose inside the water though. Thanks Thierry for your warm words. We definitely share the love for Japan!

      Of course, はなび and せみ!
So, it was white pebbles! Sorry. Hum, maybe it’s a Zen stream… But Japanese people kept always an eye for details. There have for sure some good reason about that choice… They could put in this little stream some “Garra Rufa” fish…
