TokYo StREet ToYs

I have been taking photos of Tokyo’s toys and mascots for quite a long time now.  Walk along almost any street in Tokyo and you’re bound to see these characters standing in front of shops, restaurants or police/fire stations. Tokyo is mascot heaven and the list of cute characters is endless: from Doraemon (the robotic cat) to Hello Kitty to Kyuta, the Tokyo Metropolitan Fire Department’s mascot (FYI the Metropolitan Police Department has its own mascot as well).

The most common ones are two small elephants which are Sato Pharmaceuticals’ mascots: Sato-chan and Satoko-chan, his sister. What I love about these two is that most of the times pharmacy owners dress them up in different outfits depending on the Season or Holiday.
